Brutal Doom

The name should say it all. Brutal Doom is a mod for Doom and its brethern (Doom2, Final Doom, etc) that makes the game more brutal. New weapons, more blood & gore, new finishing moves, taunts, and much more make this the version of doom to play. Combined with a modern new 3d engine for Doom such as Zandorum or ZDoom this is one hell of a ride. Also it shows just how timeless doom is. Sure the new weapons and 3D engine is nice, but none of the textures are modified and the game still looks and feels great.





Ether Vapor Remaster

Ether Vapor Remaster is a S'hmup that takes on  influences from a few classic shooters. The gameplay varies between standard horizontal and vertical scrolling, to an Omega Boost / Rez style lock on gameplay. Overall its good looking, with a soundtrack and story that are both solid, but nothing really amazing. I really enjoyed the demo and will probably pick up the full game. Oh on steam at least the controls for buttons 1-4 are bound to z,x,c,v and they dont mention this anywhere, just fyi.

Its a 2D side scrolling jumping platformer with music by DB Soundworks. Its also free online. What more do you want? Tons of action, super simple, this is an indie game done right. The soundtrack is great; The game play is fun and its super easy to learn. Seriously go play it now, its free on Adam Atomic's website.





Edge (Edge Extended)

Edge is a simple geometry based game where you control a block and have to get to the finish while picking up some optional bonus point blocks along the way. Sounds simple right? Edge is really fun to play and quite challenging at times trying to maneuver the block around obstacles and such. Iv found myself playing a level or two when im stuck out somewhere with nothing to do, and its a pretty neat idea over all.

Roland Juno-6 Repairs

A while back at Music Go Round I saw something propped up in the corner behind the counter. It was a Roland Juno-6 in what looked to be good shape with just a broken ARP mode select switch and a key with a broken end. They just got it in and didn't want to fix it so they were selling it as it really cheap. Like really really cheap. So I bought it instantly and went home and found a key and switch on ebay for about $10 each. Replacing the key was a fairly simple, but the switch was a little more involved. JP-8000 Battery Change

The Roland JP-8000 I have come into possession of needed a new battery in it, as it was displaying the "Low Battery" message. So after finding a good video on YouTube on how to change the battery I noticed the pitchbend wheel and the ribbon controller stopped working. I was thinking I broke something until after stumbling around google I found a very helpful post from Andy T over at Roland Clan. After the battery is changed, sometimes you need to re-calibrate the pitch and ribbon controllers. Resetting the Mod / Pitch Bend Wheel and Ribbon Controller: Found at: http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?t=27112 After you replace the battery in the JP,you will need to perform the following steps to get the bender & ribbon controller to work. 1. Best Albums of 2021

As usual this list is super late. I actually started writing this in 2020, and just didn't get around to posting or editing it until the end of 2021  2022. Oops... Well i gave it a shot at least. I also did not do a breakdown of each album since i just want to get this published; In short Actors continues to be amazing, and Trent can do no wrong when working with other musicians.  For 2021 - The pandemic continued, but I did manage to get out a bit more this year and there were a few concerts that I even made it out too as well.
